Without doubt, opera and ballet fascinate theatre goers in a unique way. A guided tour of the National Theatre presents information on the organisational and logistical complexity of a performance as well as interesting information on the staff on stage and behind the scenes, the architecture of the building and the characters who have shaped this institution. More than 350 years of opera and ballet in Munich provide for the historical background.
A tour of the National Theatre includes a visit to the Royal Hall, the Ionic Halls as well as the auditorium, the prompter’s box and the area below the stage.
Tours of the National Theatre are conducted almost every day at 2:00 P.M. and last 60 minutes. Tickets cost Euro 6.00 (reduced price = Euro 4.00) and are available at the opera shop in the box office lobby.
