Data Protection Declaration

Protocol

Because of the appearance of security-relevant matters, access data relevant to data protection will be stored in memory on each access to the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet's web server. The web server is operated for the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavaria State Ballet by the Newsfactory Company.

Depending on the access protocol, the protocol data set will contain the following contents:

• IP address of the requesting computer

• date and time of the request

• access method/function of the requesting computer

• input information (filename, …) communicated from the requesting computer

• access status of the web server (file transferred, file not found, command not carried out, etc.)

• name of the requested file

• URL from which the file was requested or the desired function triggered
The stored data will be used exclusively for the purpose of identifying and following up inadmissible access attempts and access to the web server. The stored data will be used for no other purpose than data security, the recorded data stored for a period of twelve months and then deleted. The evaluation will be carried out by the Newsfactory Company on commission from the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet by means of the Software Webalizer.


Active Components

Cookies or JAVA applets can be used for the information package of the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet. The use of these functionalities can be turned off by the individual user through adjustment of his or her browser program.

Personal Data

The information package of the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet offers the option of entering personal or business data (e-mail addresses, names, addresses) for correspondence with the Bavarian State Opera or the Bavarian State Ballet, such as to order publications, (data protection on ticket orders, see below), to subscribe to newsletters, for feedback and for possible participation in discussion forums. The use of the services offered and the services provided by the user are maintained exclusively on a voluntary basis.

Once the order has been dealt with, the data will be destroyed. The order can alternatively be communicated to the Bavarian State Opera by telephone/fax or by mail. These details will also be destroyed once the order has been dealt with.
The e-mail addresses for sending newsletters will be stored on the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet's web server and used for no other purpose than to send the newsletter. Newsletter subscribers can cancel their subscription at any time; the e-mail addresses will be automatically deleted.

In any case (order, newsletter, feedback, discussion forums) the personal data provided (in particular name, e-mail address) will only be used for sending the desired publications or information, that is to say for those purposes explicitly indicated on the forms. They will not be transferred to third parties.

On-Line Ticket Sales

Personal order data will be accessed, processed and used in accordance with the appropriate data-protection legislation.

As a matter of principle, when orders are placed on www.staatsoper.de, all data will be protected by an SSL (secure server line) between the PC of the person ordering the tickets and the connected computer.

The personal information supplied on the individual placing the order (e.g. name, address, e-mail, telephone number, etc.) will only be accessed, processed and used in the automated process within the scope necessary simply for the justification, implementation or alteration of the contractual relationship under observation of the applicable data protection stipulations.

Disclaimer

The Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet are only responsible for their "own content", which they make available for use in accordance with prevailing legal stipulations.

This "own content" is to be differentiated from links to websites of other suppliers. The Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet merely provide these links to enable users to access these contents (§9 Telephone Service Law). The Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet are not responsible for these "alien" contents as they have not prompted the transfer of the information that addressees of the transferred information have not selected, nor have they selected or altered the information transferred. An automatic short-term intermediate storage of this "alien information" also does not take place as a consequence of the selected access and linking methodology, which means that the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet can assume no responsibility for this "alien content".

In the course of the first connection to these internet offerings, however, the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet have checked the alien content to make certain that no possible responsibility under the terms and conditions of civil or criminal legislation will come about. Should the Bavarian State Opera or the Bavarian State Ballet however ascertain or have been advised that a concrete offering to which they have made a link available involves a responsibility under civil or criminal legislation, they will immediately remove the reference to this offering insofar as this is technically possible and reasonable.

The Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet's information package offers users a possibility of sending electronic e-cards (Opera Cards) to third parties. The contents of these cards exclusively represent private or business communications from the users, and the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet assume no responsibility for said contents.
