“If you are looking for me, I am the girl walking on bare feet.” – Premiere at the Bavarian State Ballet on January 30th, 2012
Munich, January 2012 – The last year finished "very British" indeed - and in that same spirit, we begin the New Year. On January 30th 2012, the Bavarian State Ballet will celebrate a world premiere, a Germany premiere and a Munich premiere all in one evening with the quadruple bill program "The Girl and the Knife Thrower / AfterLight / Broken Fall / Las Hermanas".

"Steps & Times" - Première at the Bavarian State Ballet on December 22, 2011
Munich, December 2011 – The current season at the Bavarian State Ballet is titled "Very British!?" The season's first première, "Steps & Times", on December 22nd, 2011 implements this theme by presenting the work of two of the most prominent English choreographers: Frederick Ashton and Kenneth MacMillan.

Gözde Özgür receives Bavaria State Art Award 2011
Munich, August 2011 - The Bavaria State Art Award, established in 1965, is awarded annually in various categories including music, dance, literature, the visual and performing arts. On November 18, State Minister Wolfgang Heubisch will award Gözde Özgür for her achievement in the dance.

Munich, August 2011 – After refreshing holidays the dancers of the Bavarian State Ballet have returned to daily class and rehearsals. With the motto "Very British!?" the 2011/2012 season will present works of the most important British choreographers, both classical and modern.

With the beginning of the Bavarian State Ballet's summer season, the Knight of the Woeful Countenance and his trusty esquire Sancho Panza will again conquer the stage of the Prinzregententheater. For the performances on June 24 and 26, ballet director Ivan Liška has also contracted the celebrated Bolshoi ballerina Ekaterina Krysanova as Kitri.
